![]() I’ve considered doing a factory reset but don’t want to go to those measures if there’s no chance it’ll help. It seems to be an issue transitioning from the lock screen to the app screen. Basically as long as I won’t let the phone go to the lock screen I’m fine but that’s causing me to be extremely attentive to the phone. When the black screen is occurring, if I take a screen shot once the phone is rebooted I can view the screenshot in my Gallery and it is of whatever random app I had pressed, with a normal screen (not just black like what is being displayed). I tried doing a normal reboot of the phone and when that is done the main screen is what it opens to and it works fine, unless it locks again due to inactivity or if I hit the lock button. ![]() However I can hear the buttons on the side working and can hear that I’m randomly selecting apps while taping on the screen. My phone will display the lock screen perfectly fine (the time and date and notifications), but when I try to open it to the main screen(I have no lock on the phone) the display is black. ![]() Today’s problem: Galaxy S8 shows black screen when transitioning from lock screen turns to Home screen Today’s troubleshooting article addresses a particular #GalaxyS8 lock screen issue where the screen turns black instead of showing the main Home screen.
